The moment I laid eyes on Illuminae I knew it was going to be one of my favourite series. I still cannot get over the format of these books! It's such a smart and crazy idea! A book made up of files of messages, video recordings, reports, interviews and so much more! I am just in love with the concept!
The story is spectacular. Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff keep you on your toes waiting and anticipating what they have planned next. The events that occur, in Illuminae, Gemina and Obsidio, leave you shaking with anticipation. There are so many jaw dropping moments that at this point you might as well keep your mouth and eyes wide open! It has the perfect balance of humour and seriousness, which makes the plot always interesting. The story captivates you so much that even when you’re not reading, all you can think about is the events that happened and the ones yet to come. The action and the tension in the books are perfect! My poor heart was pounding and aching, my mind kept pushing for more and more! This story is not at all sunshine and rainbows, it’s quite the opposite... I still shiver thinking about certain scenes!
Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff fulfill an exceed all expectations! This series will blow your mind! The Illuaminae Files are scripted so smoothly till perfection!
You can probably tell my excitement with all the exclamation marks being used in this review. If you haven’t read this series stop whatever you're doing, buy all three books and binge read them immediately!
