Goodreads Synopsis:
Ding dong—Dorothy is dead. I watched as the Emerald Palace crumbled to the ground, burying Dorothy, the Girl Who Rode the Cyclone, under the rubble. And now that the rightful ruler, Ozma, has been restored to the throne… Oz is finally free. My name is Amy Gumm. You might remember me as the othergirl from Kansas. When a tornado whisked me away to the magical land of Oz, I was given a mission: Dorothy must die. But it turns out girls from Kansas are harder to kill than we look. Now the Road of Yellow Brick is leading me away from Oz to the dark world of Ev, where I have a new, powerful enemy to deal with: the Nome King. And—surprise—he has a gingham-clad bride. With my magical shoes and a shrinking group of allies, I have one final chance to fulfill my mission, and save not only what’s left of Oz, but Kansas, too. As the line between Good and Wicked blurs even further, I have to find a way to get rid of Dorothy once and for all—without turning into a monster myself. Dorothy once said there’s no place like home. Can I stop her from destroying mine?
Review:
The final installment in the Dorothy Must Die series! Its so sad saying goodbye to all these characters.
I gave The End of Oz a 4.5 star rating. It lost 0.5 stars only because I felt the ending was kind of rushed. I was quite disappointing in seeing that it was once again less than 300 pages. I thought it would have as many pages as Dorothy Must Die ( pages). I didn't want this book to be quick. I wanted it to last me days reading. Usually a book less than 300 pages would take me a day to read, two day tops. But I found myself stalling just to finish this book. I am very happy I finished this book. I have no other complainants just LOVE. I was not expecting the ending and was slowing dying as it was playing out. This GIF is the perfect representation of what the book was doing to me, it just kept shocking me ;).
As many of you know Dorothy Must Die was the book that really got me into reading a couple years back. Nox was my first book boyfriend and will forever be in my heart. I loved all of Amy's and Nox's scenes. You would find me looking for Nox's name to come up in the page and getting so excited to read more about him. My bad boy falling in love. I was *swooning* just as much as Amy. I wrote in my notebook everytime Nox would appear and draw hearts next to his name!
I am so sad and happy that this series has finally come to an end. I bought the Barnes and Nobel's exclusive edition so I got to read the epilogue which kind of gives me hope in seeing these characters again in the future. As I said before I didn't want this series to end. I didn't want to say goodbye to the munchkins, members of the revolutionary order of the wicked, Amy, Dorothy, NOX and all the other characters in the book. Thank you Danielle Paige for writing such an extraordinary story! I cherish these books and characters in my heart <3.
